In the fall of 2012, Berks County Sheriff’s Department in Reading, Pennsylvania decided to go with a new look for their fleet vehicle graphics and partnered with Grafix Shoppe to establish their new identity. Grafix Shoppe helped design a sleek custom kit that could be tailored to all of their different vehicle types. Berks County was very pleased with the fleet makeover. John T. Stanton, Chief Deputy Sheriff said, “We love the design that your company provided and have entered it into the design contest for Law and Order publication. Thank you.” Stanton ended up having great success with the 2013 International Police Vehicle Design Contest, and won first place for the Best Ford Police Interceptor category.
The article can be found in the August 2013 issue of Law and Order: The Magazine for Police Management.
The article says;
“The Berks County Sheriff’s Department believes that “Sustainability” is one of the most important factors to consider in choice of design, color and graphics because members of the community must be able to immediately identify the department from other law enforcement agencies as they perform the same yet different, functions within the community. A police car can be from any borough, township or city, but Berks County’s “Sheriff cars” are sustainable images.”
The contest judges’ said, “The blue-and-gold color scheme stands out and we like the safety strip on the back bumper. The combination is perfect; follows the lines of the car. The star and flag are nice additions.”
